HTC Droid DNA is an important breakthrough in the mobile world with its first-ever commercially available 1080p smartphone display and enormous power under the bonnet. It is definitely one of the hottest handsets around but unfortunately, Droid DNA is exclusive only to Verizon. The phone also has its bootloader locked and it is a good thing that some resourceful individuals were able to find ways to open it up a little bit.
The team first modified the phone so it would appear as unbranded and used the official bootloader unlocking tool released by HTC. This is a good development as the already attractive smartphone now looks even better. Now that we can unlock the phone easily, you could be tempted to immediately pick up this 5” beast from Verizon. Obviously, HTC and Verizon aren’t fans of you attempting to unlock the bootloader. There’s a possibility that they would release a fix or work-around, to be applied on subsequent batches to prevent users have the ability to root and perform any type of tinkering on the phone.
